Look at this special episode of Cubetti di Sapere dedicated to the physical tests that the skiers of the Italian National Team undergo at the Mapei Sport Research Centre.
For 20 years now, the medical-sports centre based in Olgiate Olona (Varese, Italy) has been collaborating with the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and twice a year has subjected the Italian national Alpine skiers to a battery of tests to measure their athletic performance, health with a view to prevention, symmetry and control.
In this short video recorded last week, we see the slalomists Alex Vinatzer, Stefano Gross, Simon Maurberger, Tobias Kastlunger, Matteo Canins, Corrado Barbera and Tommaso Sala, at the test with the Mognoni press and the other machines developed by the Mapei Sport technicians to assess their condition at the start of the season and direct the training plans for the individual athletes in the best possible way.
Not only for next winter, but also in view of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
